| 252 competitors. Great matches. AWESOME Pro division. Well organized. ANDWeird venue. Hot and humid (uggh).Overall a GREAT event put on by Andrew Smith and Mike Moses. It was a long day on my feet, selling gear, meeting new people, hooking up with old friends, wishing I could see the mats better. I busted out some new cotton NHB Gear tees and some new designs on the wicking tees including a new "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu -- Now Made In America" shirt. | I had a chance to ask Kenny a few questions in between his preparation for his main event fight on the Spike TUF Finale 6/24. Here's how it went... SK: How are you preparing for Stout? Any differently than you did for Kit Cope? KF: I guess doing more tactical strategy on the ground and stand up based on weaknesses we have seen in his stand up and ground game. Sam is not as strong as a striker as Cope but he is certainly better overall and has more experience. I will be prepared for this ... |

Andrew "Goatfury" Smith is organizing another grappling tournament on the East Coast. This is both gi and no-gi. Plus, NHB GEAR is sponsoring the $1,000 Men's 200 & Under Pro Division that includes World Champ, Marcos "Yemaso" Torregrossa; 2006 Bud Cup Champ, Chris Moriarty; BJJ Black Belt, Wilson Reis; Steve Kim (no relation  ); Ryan Hall; Renzo Gracie Brown Belt, Bill Scott; and Alliance brown belt, Ryan Ellison.
Pre-registered competitors can stay and watch the MMA fights that night for free. Pre-registration is $45, additional divisions are $10.

I am happy to announce that NHB Gear will be sponsoring Kenny Florian for his fight against Sam Stout on the Ultimate Fighter Finale shown on SpikeTV June 24th. These two were supposed to fight at UFC 58, USA vs Canada, but KenFlo hurt his back before the fight. Now he is healthy and ready to go against a guy known for KO power. At UFC 58, Stout won a split decision against Kenny's replacement, Spencer Fisher.
I've known Kenny for a long time and NHB Gear is proud to support him in his quest for a UFC title. Make sure to tune in to SpikeTV on 6/24 at 9:00PM EST.

Hey, folks! Thanks for checking out my blog. My name is is Sam Kim and I am the owner of NHB Gear, a fight gear company in business since 2000. I created two major brands, NHB Gear (duh) and Jiu Jitsu Gear. Lots of gear: rash guards, tees, patches, gis, DVDs, moisture wicking gear, SideFly grappling shorts, and more.
I want to use this blog to keep you updated on what's going on with the company, the tournaments we are sponsoring, our Fight Team, stuff on the Forum you should check out, new products, and stuff like that. I will also give you a glimpse into the inner workings of the company and the journey I am on to build and grow this company into the Nike-rivaling juggernaut it deserves to be. See, I quit my nice, high paying job at the beginning of the year to pursue NHB Gear and give it the full-time attention it needed. The salary went out the window and so did all of the great benefits. My wife almost went out the window, too!
